After seeing a documentary on Gene Wilder, one of my favorite childhood actors, and revisiting his role in Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, I was inspired to paint myself in a dramatic bow. I was once an actor, myself, and find the roles we all play in this life to be fascinating, heartbreaking, and bittersweet— as was Gene Wilder’s role of Willy Wonka. Again I found the perfect vintage music sheets, one of which was titled "That's All,” which I did not realize until I was painting the main figure. It worked so perfectly, I gave this piece the same title.
