Lilith
vintage paper, vintage music sheets, acrylic, and oil on linen
17.5 x 21.5 (framed)
In this piece, I wanted to convey our connection to nature— our own nature and the nature around us. We are in fact nature, ourselves. We may have forgotten this connection, but if we can find it again, it holds great healing for us. In mythology, Lilith is often depicted as a rebellious, independent figure, sometimes considered Adam’s first wife who defied him and left the Garden Of Eden, later becoming associated with demons and the night. As women, we must embrace our rebelliousness, our independence and inherent strength - our inner nature.
